Rick
is also one of the original founders of Clear Winds
Technologies and has been with the firm since its
inception. His primary role at Clear Winds is Principal
Engineer consisting of mostly database-related activities.
His experience covers several industry segments
including retail, banking, healthcare, manufacturing
and utilities. Rick holds
a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
from the University of Florida. He also holds
current certifications in Oracle products (OCP)
to stay current with leading technologies.
Rick has been working professionally
in the technology field since 1977 and started
his first DBA role in 1980. He has held various
positions including Project Manager, Senior Engineer/Architect
and Consultant. Rick has been supporting Oracle
databases in enterprise environments since 1990.
He also has some expertise in SQL Server and DB2
databases. Some of his accomplishments include

Serving
as the primary designer for several database projects
including: employee time keeping, fuel accounting,
power plant work orders, worker's compensation claim
tracking, system capacity and transmission line
pricing, work order (job) tracking for distribution
crews and materials management system.

Setting up Oracle Applications
for 11i and supporting the database component of
PeopleSoft HR and Financials applications.

Designing database structures
and tuning existing databases for optimal performance
and uptime.

Designing and implementing
enterprise backup systems, redundant systems and
disaster recovery systems applying technologies
such as clustering, Dataguard and RMAN

Assisting a financial
services company in upgrading its Oracle databases
from versions 8i and 9i to 10g. These databases
serve a distributed application provided to the
banking industry. |
